Ski Club Information
CLUB ADVISORS AND CHAPERONES: Amy Johnson, Ashley Hutchison
GENERAL INFORMATION: MSHS Ski &Board Club provides transportation to the Summit at Snoqualmie on Thursdays in January and February between winter break and mid-winter break.
Mount Si Ski & Board club does not provide lessons or supervision while at the pass. Students are responsible for their own lift tickets, and for their behavior at the pass.
SCHEDULE: Mount Si Ski & Board Club will be going to The Summit at Snoqualmie on Thursday afternoons from 1/9/20 through 2/13/20 with a potential make-up day on 2/27/20.
The ski bus will pick up students around 2:45pm (as soon as the normal buses leave).
Students are required to be back on the bus by 7:00 pm and we will leave the Summit no later than 7:15pm, typically bringing us back to campus between 7:45 and 8:00pm.
Students are expected to text or call their parents from the bus so that they can be picked up in a timely manner. At this time students should tell their parents what campus they would liked to be picked up at.
COST: Ski Bus transportation cost is $135.00 which includes the $25 ASB club fee. Please make your check out to: MSHS Ski/Board Club.
PASSES AND GEAR RENTAL: The Summit at Snoqualmie offers season passes and rental gear to Mount Si Ski & Board Club members at their discounted summer prices. See the above forms on how to access discounted passes and rental gear for your student.
LOTTERY SYSTEM: Due to the high volume of applicants in recent years, and in an effort to make ski club available to everyone regardless of their ability to be dropped off at school early, members will be chosen through a lottery. Preference is still given to freshman since many upper classmen have access to their own vehicles.
After the application deadline, 50 names will be drawn (30 spots will be reserved for freshman, and the other 20 will be drawn from the remaining students). These students will be emailed through their Schoology accounts.
After the payment deadline, if there are students who haven’t paid their fee, additional names will be drawn and students will be given the chance to pay their fee until all 50 spots are filled.
CANCELLATIONS: In case of severe inclement weather, Ski & Board club may decide to cancel a trip. The decision will be made by 7:00 am the day of the trip and students will be notified via the remind app.
If at 7:00 am I-90 is still closed in either direction, ski bus will be cancelled. The only exception to this is if conditions are improving and WSDOT has announced that roads should be opened by 3pm.
In rare cases a trip may have to be cancelled later in the day. In that case, an announcement will be made over the intercom and students will be expected to transport their gear home.
In the event of a canceled trip, a make-up trip will be added after the last scheduled trip.
MISSED TRIPS: If a student misses an individual trip for any reason, no refund is given.
Before the first trip, if a student’s schedule or situation changes and they can no longer attend ski & board club a refund for the full amount will be given.
After the first trip, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY REASON. Please double check your (or your student's) availability before considering ski and board club.
